OMmmmm....

OM should be sung

A-- O-- U-- M

A is guttural and comes from the throat

U sound comes from the middle of the sounding board, the palate.

A and U join together to become O in Sanskrit.

O sound is vibrated from the navel area and sent up to the sternum to the voice region(lips).

M sound is prolonged and vibrated up to the crown of the head.

The vibration formed by chanting Om in the physical universe corresponds to the original vibration that first started at the time of creation. The sound of Om is also called Pranava, meaning that it continues life and runs through Prana or breath.

The sound OM is considered the primeval sound.
